Damien Monroe

Born in Cahir, Ireland to a fairly militaristic family. His father, Alexander Monroe, a Starfleet Engineer. His mother, Mary Monroe, a Nurse situated on Earth. Damien was forced to train from birth to be a soldier, along side his older brother Jacob, both of them constantly competing to be the best. Although Damien lacked his brothers intelligence, he made up with it in sheer brute-strength. He was often commented on for his ruthless and unforgiving nature, his fierce determination and of course his natural finesse in combat. Whether it be his ability in close-quarters combat or his skill with a rifle.

At the age of 18, he and his 19 year old brother applied for Starfleet, his brother passed the exams with ease unlike Damien, who failed the entry exam. His father, outraged by this pulled some strings to get him accepted pointing out his physical ability. Starfleet, after much dispute allowed Damien to train in Starfleet academy.

Jacob graduated early, due to his superior intellect, whilst Damien struggled to keep on top of his studies, often getting into fights with his peers. When the final examinations came, Damien scored higher than anyone in his class on the physical examination, higher than the majority of students to pass through the academy ever. Though he failed his other exams, again his father stepped in.

Damien finally graduated after a month of his father sweet-talking command into it, he was assigned the USS Albrighton, under the command of Captain Jackie Hiro as a member of the security department.

After a few ground missions, Damien proved his combat prowess, although he took risks on the battlefield, often endangering his own life they paid off. He was able to control his ruthless personality. He slowly worked his way up to the rank of Commander.

Until the Albrighton was ordered to disable a Klingon ship and capture it's captain for interrogation. Aboard the Klingon vessel, Damien defied his superior, disobeying direct orders for minimal conflict, Damien took it upon himself to kill the surviving crew from the space battle.
Because of this, Damien was discharged, pulled from active duty and incarcerated for a year in solitary confinement.

During this year, Damien practised containing his rage, he gained control of his temper. 9 months into his sentence Damien was given word of his fathers death. Killed by Klingon forces. After debate from command Damien was released and given command of his fathers ship, the USS Honora.

Although hesitant about commanding his own ship, he took the position if only to avenge his fathers death. Three months after being told of his fathers death, Damien was given more bad news. His brother Jacob, now the Captain of the USS Fidem had been reported killed in action, details were not passed onto Damien, as none were known.

The loss of both his father and his brother opened Damien's eyes to the importance of family, after that he spent his shore-leave on Earth with his mother and sister, Tia.

At the age of 22, after 2 years in command of the Honora, Damien was assigned to the Exploration Foundation fleet, under Admiral Orion. Where his skills in combat could help in exploration if the fleet ever came into contact with.. "Unfriendly" aliens.

Weeks into his time with EF, Monroe was contacted by a Female Vulcan, calling herself 'Tess' he was told about an organization, looking for individuals such as himself, for important off-the-radar work. Itching to get a real fight, Monroe joined. Given orders to destroy a Klingon ship, capturing the captain (A recurring theme he thought.) he quickly rushed to fulfil them.

Once the mission was completed he was contacted again, this time by a man calling himself 'Hallows' he explained to Monroe that he represented a privately funded military organization, working closely with Starfleet called CREED, he said that Monroe had been hand-picked for his ability to get the job done, no matter what the cost.

Although feeling uneasy with the decision, Monroe accepted, joining CREED.
After a few days working for them, Hallows persuaded Monroe to volunteer for a special experiment, involving the abilities of humans. After several rounds of injections, Hallows had pushed Monroe's abilities to the brink of human potential. Though these 'enhancements' didn't come without a price, with the fact that Monroe's strength, durability and resilience were pushed far beyond the average human, he constantly suffers from migraines as well as a slower reaction time he lost his skill with a firearm, relying solely on close quarters combat.

His time spent with fellow fleet-member Jordan Baker, further experiments were carried out on Monroe, Baker bound a suit to Monroe, when activated pushed his abilities beyond his already augmented self. Though this suit creates a super soldier, its not without drawbacks, somewhat severe drawbacks. When activated for the first time, the suit created a cancer within Monroe, the more he uses the suit, the more aggressive the cancer becomes, although through prolonged use Monroe's body can learn to adapt to the suit, slowing down the cancer, it has already taken a toll on his body, whenever the suit is used for longer than recommended, Monroe suffers extreme abdominal pain. As well as physical drawbacks the suit also altered his personality, increasing his aggression ten-fold.

Although the suit is slowly killing him, he finds himself addicted to his enhancements, he enjoys the buzz they give him.
