*Note to all - This is the PRIVATE log of Karlos and this is wrote so you can find out the details of what's really going on behind the scenes of the fleet. It's not needed that you read this but it may appeal to some.*

    Commanding Officers Log.
I've been putting off the making of these logs for a while now. With Command confirming the Fleet's existence, changing their minds, but finally we have the go ahead. I've informed some of the senior officers we may be moving out to Starbase 39 and today Command confirmed it. We're moving out on Wednesday.
I'm going to start by trying a diplomatic approach with the Romulans, if that fails I have two security escorts. Things may go quite badly if they decide to attack. I'll be leading in a Delta Flyer. I'll be talking with our Head Diplomat and I'll be bringing her along with me in the shuttle. Z'Hai's ship will have a constant transporter lock on us in case the ship becomes critical while our Chief of Security leads an attack on the lead Romulan vessel.

Regrettably Z'Hai has been sent on a dangerous mission. I will begin to explain what lead to this and then follow with my actions.
Earlier this evening, the Lieutenant came into contact with a fleet of borg ships while answering to a Federation Distress call <a link to her report filed under Command's distress response folder.> I had her brief me up on the details. She mentioned a 'Borg Command ship' and the words she used was "It made a Sovereign class look like a space tug"
I wanted to know more but unfortunately the Data Padd she compiled didn't contain much detail. I requested she join our Borg Specialist Division (Borg Spec). She has been officially assigned a mission to a nebula in the neutral zone, her mission is to escort a science vessel. But in reality her mission is far more dangerous. I've sent her into Borg space. Using data I've sent to her ship she will be able to mask her warp signature so that the Borg don't register her as a threat unless they come under attack.
I know this is way over my head and authority as the CO of an Exploration and information Fleet. But this is of the utmost importance. The data she gets from that command ship could explain the sudden increase of Borg activity in the Quadrant.
I will file an official report to Starfleet Command when this is over. I just hope she gets her crew back home safely.
She's under direct orders from myself to keep this a secret from all other officers. She is to give her crew as little information as possible while she conducts the mission. My thoughts will be with her throughout!

    Karlos... Out!

    April 25th

This is it, we deploy tonight. I've gotten preparations under way, we should have no problems getting the fleet out there. I just hope diplomacy wins, otherwise we're going to have one hell of a fight on our hands.

Z'Hai got back from her mission last night. It was successful and I commended her with our Valour Ribbon. She managed to intercept borg transmissions and her crew is currently decoding them.
Following the death of Lieutenant Goldstein, I was sure to commend his bravery in answering the distress call and fending off the Romulans. Z'Hai seemed to have mixed emotions about it but she seems fine enough to continue command. Following that night she encountered the Borg again, the Arch-Royal managed to get there in time to see the Command Ship blown up. Depending on what the intercepted messages say, we may or may not have stopped their plans... For now. But that's something to worry about AFTER we're settled at Starbase 39. Right now the Romulans are our main threat, we'll have to leave the defence of the other sectors to the rest of Starfleet.

I should have known it wouldn't be so simple.
We seem to have been delayed once more in our mission. By a Borg attack no less! Command wouldn't allow us to move our fleet toward K-7 since our intended destination was Starbase 39, this meant we could only take one ship. I decided to take Z'Hai's ship. The Andor's crew are already adept at dealing with the borg and Z's experience with them was second to none. I replaced her bridge officers with some of our most senior fleet members, their bridge experience definitely turned a tide in the battle.
Tonight we WILL engage for starbase 39. I won't stand for another delay!

    End Log.

Returning to Active duty... Boy I've left my log go dusty for a while, haven't I?
The fleet seems to have gone through it's dark days. Discipline, that's what it's down to. I've been too lax, allowing officers to be too negligent to the rank structure. I've made it clear to my new chain of command that we're hammering down hard! If they don't like it, tough! I'll be more than happy to kick them out of the fleet myself!

    --A long sigh is heard--

What happened to you, Karlos? Has command really started to get to you that much. Orion is getting old indeed. It's starting to wear me out.

... Our lack of a stable chief Medical Officer means I lack having someone I can trust with my... Issues. That night I took a hit to the abdomen, the night it all started... I just can't seem to trust anyone enough with this. They aren't my emotions, I want it taken care of but... The Symbiont. It's feelings overpower me... I-- Aaah.. --Painful sigh heard--

    --End Log--
