The series Voyager was an Intrepid class ship.
Considered one of the most advanced ships of it's time. One of the fastest too. - A science ship of course since Captain Janeway was initially a Science officer.

...AND it was considered a "green" ship due to the innovative way it managed the warp bubble effect to the sub-space fabric.
