SPECIES OVERVIEW: The Rook are a sentient species of earth dwellers who's civilization spans 2 thousand years. Their world Nether VI is a dark and desolate world with little natural resources save the ore their planet is made of. Dark rolling clouds of dust and debris drift through its plains blocking of all sunlight to an already dark world. A perfect environment for the Rook who's millions of citizens have carved out the interior of the planet using its core as an energy supply. The Rook are all male, and every citizen is formed and born from the earth using the soils rich nutrients to create the sentient Rook.
SPACE FAIRING CAVE DWELLERS: Using the power of their earth core they were able to create a wide area of technology through terrestrialic engineering, creating massive armadas, with the ships being made of rock and soil. For centuries they controlled their system and even set up colonies on planets that could sustain their unique life conditions. For years many believed this armada to be nothing but a large pirate band patrolling the various worlds they inhabited, creating a mythos around the Rook race.
ADMIRAL RIO: Rio was morphed 104 years ago near the planets core, from then on he was assigned a position at the planets core mine. He began to pick up bio-engineering as he began fixing and creating augmented parts for those who've lost limbs at the planets core. As he grew he began to notice the planets weather and earthquake systems become more erratic and unstable. He brought this to the Foundry's attention, and was merely scoffed at and shunned away for being a defective creation. He went out on his own trying to create an urgency of how severe the problem was to the rest of the population, for this The Foundry punished him. He was ordered to morph his first Rook far before his allotted time, and was exiled on the armada, to be admiral of the Stark. His created Rook, Fere was exiled to the stark and they were sent on an exploration mission to find new worlds to inhabit.
JORDAN BAKER AND THE U.S.S CENTAUR: Captain Baker was issued command of the U.S.S Centaur on his 21st birthday, while on the same day given orders to explore an uncharted sector on an exploration mission. Young, Stubborn and full of life described the attitude Jordan had to his ship and his crew, coming from a prominent family on earth, he was molded into the perfect starfleet captain. On the day of his birth he chased an white powdered anomaly across the systems trying to anylize its contents.
NETHER VI, NEVERMORE: The same day as Jordans Birthday, a serious of catastrophic storms and earthquakes devastated Nether VI. A distress signal was sent to their entire fleet to come and evacuate the planet, fearing a catastrophic event far more dangerous might arise. They were right. The core had become unstable, warping the planet on its access, creating canyon like cracks on its surface. Nether VI would implode on itself. The signal reach Admiral Rio, who knew they must make it back to save as many lives as they could. Right before warp the U.S.S Centaur stumbled onto the Stark, changing the timeline of events had that not taken place. Rio communicated the message with Jordan on the dire situation on Nether VI, asking for aid. After a brief talk with star fleet, reinforcements were sent to evacuate all Rook from their home world. Arriving at the doomed planet, the situation had turned sever, the planet was crumbling under itself. Killing thousands. The ships began transporting the survivors off the planet having to get dangerously close because of the rooks locations underground. With Star Fleets advanced transporter technology thousands of Rook were saved. Then Finally it happened the planet sent a shock wave throughout the system taking our most of the Rooks crumbling armada. The implosion was so ferocious, the gravitational pull began drawing ships close by to their doom. Rio saw the Centaur too close to escape and began transporting its personnel onto the Stark. But it was too late, the pull was too strong, and the Centaur along with countless other ships were pulled to their doom, along with Captain Jordan Baker.
REBUILD FOR A BRIGHTER TOMORROW: The loss was great on all sides and a colony for the Rook was begun immediately for the survivors. As for Admiral Rio...he joined star fleet, as the captain of the U.S.S Eclipse, along with changing his name to Captain Jordan Baker, in honor of the one who saved his species from certain extinction. Then finally being accepted into the prestigious Exploration Foundation, in hopes of someday repaying his debt to starfleet by saving those who have no one to save them.
